Childrens' Behaviour while at school

The home / school agreement
Each new entrant to the school is asked to complete a home/school agreement. This is divided into three sections and should be signed by class teachers, parents and, where appropriate, children. This agreement is
renewed annually.
Our discipline policy
We have a discipline policy that incorporates our rules on bullying. This sets out a
code of conduct in a clear way, based on a combination of rewards and punishments within a positive community atmosphere.
The rules are few in number, easily understood and agreed by all.
They can be summarised as:
1. Keep a safe and tidy school
2. Accept the rights and beliefs of all people
3. Show courtesy and respect to other people and their property
4. Show self-respect and a degree of self-discipline
Inevitably there will be times when sanctions have to be taken against children who show disregard for school rules and the feelings of others. In these cases verbal admonishment or loss of privileges are normally sufficient to rectify the situation. Should there be any serious behavioural problems, parents will be informed and further action implemented.
