Payhembury Primary School

Headteacher Mrs Penny Hammett

School hours

Children arrive at school between 8.45 and 9.00am and are allowed into the classrooms from 8.45 in KS2 and 8.50am in KS1 after which they are supervised.

The school day starts formally with registration (5 minutes). There is a mid morning break when the children play outside (weather permitting). Assembly takes place everyday after lunch and is held separately in classrooms on a Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is whole school singing practice and on Thursday we all go to church for a weekly service lead by Rev. Cate. On Fridays we meet together after lunch for a celebration assembly. Lunchtime is between 12.00 and 1pm. We currently have no hot meal so children need to bring their own packed lunches, however we aim to have hot meals available from June 2014.

Afternoon school starts at 1.00pm. The school day ends at 3.30pm. At the end of the day parents are asked to meet the children from the lower school playground adjacent to the KS1 classroom

8.45-8.55am    Adults on duty to allow children to cross the road from the playground

8.50 am          KS 1 Classroom Open

9.00am           Registration to be taken

9.00 am            School Starts

3.30 pm   KS2 (Junior) children escorted back to infant playground for parents to collect.
KS1 (Infant) children ‘released’ to parents.

We would point out that school staff are not responsible for pupils being dropped off before 8.50 am.

School office hours
The school office is open for enquiries from 8.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday. It would be most helpful if parents could make telephone calls or personal enquiries between these hours
