When children reach their fifth birthday they have a full entitlement to the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1. Until this time, which may be one or two terms, we recognise the need to provide for the wide-ranging interests of these younger children and, in particular, the value of learning through play.
The areas of learning in the Foundtion Stage are:
Personal, social and emotional development
Language and literacy
Mathematical development Knowledge and understanding of the world
We use various reading scheme within reception and KS1.
